SRINAGAR: Police on Saturday said that its Special Investigation Unit has filed chargehseet against accused person involved in militant attack on local labourers in Gagran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that in a significant development in the case related to the terrorist attack on local labourers in Gagran area of Shopian during the summer of 2023, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Shopian has successfully produced a comprehensive charge sheet of case FIR No. 126/2023 under section 7/25, 7/27 IA Act, 16, 18, 20, 23, 38, and 39 of UAPA. 

The police spokesman, further said that the chargesheet has been produced before Hon’ble Court of Special Judge (NIA Court) Kulgam today, against the six accused persons identified as Adnan Shafi son of Mohd Shafi Shah, Zahid Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Gaffar Shah, Hanzil Yaqoob Shah (deceased) son of Mohd Yaqoob Shah, all residents of Rawalpora Shopian, Danish Hameed Thoker @Muslim Bhai (deceased) son of Abdul Hamed Thoker resident of Chakora Shopian, Hazim Rashid Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh and Midhat Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Yaqoob Dar, both residents of Bemnipora Shopian. During the course of investigation, they were found involved in the heinous attack on labourers residing in rented accommodation at Gagran area of Shopian, causing serious injuries. 

The next hearing for the case is scheduled for February 20, 2024, as announced by the Hon’ble Court. The proceedings aim to bring justice to the victims and their families, ensuring accountability for the perpetrators involved in this reprehensible act. The SIU Shopian remains dedicated to conducting a thorough and unbiased investigation, leaving no stone unturned to bring justice to the affected families, reads the statement. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir's Police's Special Investigation Unit on Saturday conducted raid in Awantipora sub district in a terror related case, police said.

The SIU Awantipora conducted raid in Wopalwan village in connection with case registered by Government Railway Police Awantipora this year. The case was later taken by SIU for investigation.

Police said the raid was conducted by the SIU in the residential house of accused Sheikh Sayurl Nisar resident of Wopalwan Awantipora and proper standard operation procedures (SOPs) were followed.

"During the search, relevant information was gathered besides, Bank pass books, Islamic books of Jahad & other incriminating materials were recovered by the SIU Awantipora," police said.

The searches were conducted to collect more evidences of his involvement in other terror crimes,they added.

The raid was conducted as part of continuing crackdown on terror elements in Kashmir. (UNI)

SRINAGAR: State Investigation Unit of Kishtwar on Tuesday raided at four locations against militancy funding.

A senior police officer told news agency Kashmir Scroll that SIU unit of Kishtwar police conducting raids at 4 different locations in Kishtwar District against militancy funding & OGW network operating from Pakistan through local militants The raids were conducts at residences of Jamal Naik resident of Sewa Chatroo, Gulzar Ahmad resident of Kucchal, Shabir Ahmad resident of Baig Pura Singpura and Gulabu resident of Mugalmaidan. SRINAGAR: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Police on Wednesday carried out raids at multiple locations in Kishtwar District in the houses of alleged militants operating from POK/PAK.

Kishtwar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khalil Poswal told news agency Kashmir Scroll that house search warrants from NIA court Jammu in case FIR No 272/2022 registered under UAPA Act at PS Kishtwar.

Meanwhile different teams were constituted led by SDPOs including Magistrate and proper SOPs were followed by the team and raid were conducted in the houses of militant identified as Manzoor Ahmed at Tahir Ingalabi S/O Ghulam Ali Naik R/O Dwather Singpura, Nazir Ahmed at  Shaheen S/O Mohd Akbar Sheikh R/O Beighpura Singpura Chatroo.

SRINAGAR: Special Investigation Unit of Kupwara Police has attached property of a Pakistan-based militant operating from Pakistan at three different locations in Divar village of Lolab in the district. 

According to a statement, issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the Pakistan based terrorist, Almas Rizwan Khan son of Late Mohd Anwar Khan originally a resident of Diver Lolab, has been a persistent threat to peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir since the time he exfiltrated to Pakistan in early 1990s. 

"Earlier a member of TJI and now TRF, Almas's strategic involvement in numerous acts of terror has caused immense suffering and loss of innocent lives in the valley in the past. Jammu and Kashmir Police has been actively pursuing his acts to bring an end to his  destructive activities," reads the statement. 

It reads that following extensive intelligence gathering and meticulous investigations in case FIR No.276/2022 of Police Station Kupwara registered under sections 120-B, 121, 121-A, 122, 123 IPC & 17, 18, 18-A, 18-B, 20, 38, 39, 40 of UA(P)A, the team of SIU Kupwara Police led to the identification and subsequent attachment of the terrorist's property of land measuring 26 Kanals and 4 Marlas located at three different locations within the district at Diver Lolab. 

"This measure aims to disrupt his illicit network and restrict his ability to carry out further acts of terror. The attachment of the property serves as a strong message to terrorists and their supporters that their actions will not go unnoticed or unpunished."

It added that it underscores the unwavering commitment of Jammu and Kashmir Police to combate terrorism at its roots and dismantling its infrastructure—(KNO)

SRINAGAR: The State Investigation Unit (SIU) wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday attached property under ULA (P) Act of a Pakistan-based Hizb-ul-Mujhaideen militant outfit commander at Diver Lalpora Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.
 
They told GNS that the property of one Almas Rizwan Khan, son of Mohd. Anwar Khan, resident of Muqam-e-Shareef Dar, Dilbagh Diver Lolab who currently is in Pakistan, was attached vide FIR number 276/2022 under sections 120-B, 121, 121-A, 122, 123/IPC and 17, 18, 18-A, 18-8, 20, 38, 39, 40 ULA (P) Act. 

The seized property includes land measuring 26 Kanal and 4 Maria under Khewat number 1, 6 & 7 located at Diver Anderbugh Lalpore Lolab, they said. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Investigation Unit on Wednesday presented chargesheet against three militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba in the killing of a policeman and wounding his daughter in Srinagar in May 2022.

The SIU Srinagar presented a chargesheet before the Court of NIA Srinagar.
On May 24, unknown militants fired upon one police personnel Saifullah Qadri and his minor daughter of Malik Shab Soura Srinagar, in which police personnel was killed and his minor daughter got injured.

“During the course of investigation, three terrorists identified as Basit Ahmed Dar of Redwani Qaimou Kulgam, Momin Gulzar Mir of Eidgah Srinagar and Adil Ahmed Parray of Badergund Ganderbal were found involved in the terror crime case,” a police spokesman said adding “a scooty bearing registration number JKO2CB-1268 used in the terrorist attack was also seized.”
One of the accused Adil Parray was killed in an encounter in Srinagar on June 12, 2022.

“While as, the other two involved terrorists are still active and linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT/TRF,” police said.
However, the investigation shall continue under section 173 (8) CrPC, they added. (UNI)

SRINAGAR: Police on Tuesday said that its Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Awantipora today presented chargesheet before the NIA Court Pulwama.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that it presented chargesheet in court in a case FIR No. 37/2022 under section 7/27 Arms Act, 307 IPC, 16 18, 19, 23, 38, 39 UAPA Act of Police Station Tral.

According to police spokesman, the chargesheet was presented against a militant associate Sameer Ahmad Mohand son of Gh Mohmmad Mohand resident of Sheerabad Tral, Pulwama & two killed militants namely Shafat Muzffar Sofi son of Muzffar Sofi resident of Batgund Tral and Umar Nabi Teli son of Gh Nabi Teli resident of Ladhoo Pampore, reads the statement. SRINAGAR: Police on Thursday said that its Special Investigation Unit  attached under construction residential house of a militant associate in Danwathpora Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district after getting obtaining necessary sanctions from competent authority.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that during the course of investigation in case FIR No. 103/2022 of Police Station Kokernag under UA(P) Act, one under construction residential house belonging to militant associate namely Mohammad Ishaq Malik son of Mohammad Saifullah Malik resident of Danwathpora Kokernag has been found used by militants of proscribed militant outfit HM.

Accordingly, process for attachment of property belonging to the above accused falling within the ambit proceeds of militancy was initiated by SIU Anantnag under section 25 of UA(P) Act & the conformation related to the attachment of property was accorded by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, the spokesperson said.

The general public is once again advised to not harbour or provide shelter or extend logistics to militants/militant associates in their houses, failing which strict legal action will be taken against anyone doing so. SIU shall continue identification and initiation of attachment /confiscation of properties falling under the ambit of proceeds of militancy to shake the ecosystem of terrorism in UT of J&K, reads the statement. SRINAGAR: Police on Wednesday said that its Special Investigation Unit carried out multiple raids at different locations in Kishtwar district

In handout to GNS, the police said that, today Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Kishtwar Police again carried out raids at multiple locations in Kishtwar District in the house of militants who are operating from POK/PAK.

According to police spokesman, While divulging the details SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal-JKPS said that CIO Kishtwar DYSP Vishal sharma after obtaining house search warrants from NIA court Jammu in case FIR No 272/2022 registered under UAPA Act at PS Kishtwar against terrorists namely  Azad Hussain S/O Ab Majid R/O Affani Padder, Gazi-Ud-Din S/O Mohd Ayoub R/O Jugna Keshwan, Bashir Ahmed Mughal S/O Gh Qadir R/O Jugna  Keshwan and Sattar Din @ Rajab S/O Mehar Din R/O Jugna Keshwan who are presently operating from POK/PAK, searched their respective houses/residential premises. During the course of searches, the evidences collected shall be investigated so as to subject the accused persons to judicial determination for their involvement in anti-national activities and perpetuation of militancy.

SSP Kishtwar further disclosed that all those supporter/associates of terrorists whose involvement surfaces during investigations shall also be prosecuted. SSP Kishtwar further said that searches are aimed at eliminating the militant ecosystem in the district by identifying various over-ground workers and supporters of militancy, reads the statement. SRINAGAR: Special Court Kulgam designated under NIA Act issued proclamation orders under section 82 CrPC against five active militants involved in various militant crimes and target killing cases including killing of lady teacher Rajni Bala and Bank Manager Vijay Kumar in district Kulgam, last year.

"On the request of SIU Kashmir, proclamation notices have been issued against militants namely Arjumand Gulzar aka Hamza Bhuran son of Gulzar Ahmed Dar resident of Kharbatapora Ratnipora Pulwama, Bilal Ahmed Bhat son of Gh Rasool Bhat resident of Chaki Cholend Shopian, Sameer Ahmed Sheikh aka Kamran Bhai son of Farooq Ahmed Sheikh resident of Chaki Cholend Shopian, Abid Ramzan Sheikh son of Mohd Ramzan Sheikh resident of  Chotipora  Shopian and Basit Amin Bhat son of Mohd Amin Bhat resident of Frisal Kulgam", reads a statement issued to GNS.

"Before issuing proclamation, Hon'ble Court has already issued open ended Non-Bailable warrants (NBW) against all these militants. Proclamation orders have been read in the conspicuous places of their native villages and copies of orders pasted in conspicuous places of their residential houses and conspicuous place of their villages as well."

"Before initiation of further proceedings under law against these militants Hon'ble Court has given them a chance to surrender before the Court or investigation agency. Teams of SIU went to their native villages in Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts alongwith local police & Magistrates for execution of Proclamation Notices and Proper SOPs followed during these proceedings", reads the statement further.
