                                    <description><![CDATA[<p>SRINAGAR: Police on Saturday said that its Special Investigation Unit has filed chargehseet against accused person involved in militant attack on local labourers in Gagran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.</p>

<p>In a handout to GNS, the police said that in a significant development in the case related to the terrorist attack on local labourers in Gagran area of Shopian during the summer of 2023, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Shopian has successfully produced a comprehensive charge sheet of case FIR No. 126/2023 under section 7/25, 7/27 IA Act, 16, 18, 20, 23, 38, and 39 of UAPA. </p>
<p>The police spokesman, further said that the chargesheet has been produced before Hon’ble Court of Special Judge (NIA Court) Kulgam today, against the six accused persons identified as Adnan Shafi son of Mohd Shafi Shah, Zahid Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Gaffar Shah, Hanzil Yaqoob Shah (deceased) son of Mohd Yaqoob Shah, all residents of Rawalpora Shopian, Danish Hameed Thoker @Muslim Bhai (deceased) son of Abdul Hamed Thoker resident of Chakora Shopian, Hazim Rashid Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh and Midhat Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Yaqoob Dar, both residents of Bemnipora Shopian. During the course of investigation, they were found involved in the heinous attack on labourers residing in rented accommodation at Gagran area of Shopian, causing serious injuries. </p>
<p>The next hearing for the case is scheduled for February 20, 2024, as announced by the Hon’ble Court. The proceedings aim to bring justice to the victims and their families, ensuring accountability for the perpetrators involved in this reprehensible act. <p>In a handout to GNS, the police said that during the course of investigation in case FIR No. 103/2022 of Police Station Kokernag under UA(P) Act, one under construction residential house belonging to militant associate namely Mohammad Ishaq Malik son of Mohammad Saifullah Malik resident of Danwathpora Kokernag has been found used by militants of proscribed militant outfit HM.</p>
<p>Accordingly, process for attachment of property belonging to the above accused falling within the ambit proceeds of militancy was initiated by SIU Anantnag under section 25 of UA(P) Act &amp; the conformation related to the attachment of property was accorded by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, the spokesperson said.</p>
<p>The general public is once again advised to not harbour or provide shelter or extend logistics to militants/militant associates in their houses, failing which strict legal action will be taken against anyone doing so. SIU shall continue identification and initiation of attachment /confiscation of properties falling under the ambit of proceeds of militancy to shake the ecosystem of terrorism in UT of J&amp;K, reads the statement. <p>In handout to GNS, the police said that, today Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Kishtwar Police again carried out raids at multiple locations in Kishtwar District in the house of militants who are operating from POK/PAK.</p>
<p>According to police spokesman, While divulging the details SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal-JKPS said that CIO Kishtwar DYSP Vishal sharma after obtaining house search warrants from NIA court Jammu in case FIR No 272/2022 registered under UAPA Act at PS Kishtwar against terrorists namely  Azad Hussain S/O Ab Majid R/O Affani Padder, Gazi-Ud-Din S/O Mohd Ayoub R/O Jugna Keshwan, Bashir Ahmed Mughal S/O Gh Qadir R/O Jugna  Keshwan and Sattar Din @ Rajab S/O Mehar Din R/O Jugna Keshwan who are presently operating from POK/PAK, searched their respective houses/residential premises. During the course of searches, the evidences collected shall be investigated so as to subject the accused persons to judicial determination for their involvement in anti-national activities and perpetuation of militancy.</p>
<p>SSP Kishtwar further disclosed that all those supporter/associates of terrorists whose involvement surfaces during investigations shall also be prosecuted. SSP Kishtwar further said that searches are aimed at eliminating the militant ecosystem in the district by identifying various over-ground workers and supporters of militancy, reads the statement.
