SRINAGAR: Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday ordered transfers and postings of Jammu and Kashmir in administration with immediate effect. 

Among the shifted JKAS, as per GNS, include; Vikas Dhar Bhagati, Personnel Officer in the Directorate of School Education, Jammu to Assistant Commissioner (General), Jammu.

Parvinder Kour, JKAS, Secretary, Jammu Municipal Corporation, is transferred and posted as Sub-registrar, Jammu (North). 

Chand Singh, JKAS, Deputy Secretary to the Government, Transport Department, is transferred and posted as Secretary, Jammu Municipal Corporation. 

Manisha, JKAS, Assistant Commissioner (General), Jammu, is transferred and posted as Personnel Officer in the Directorate of School Education, Jammu. 

Savita Chouhan, JKAS, Sub-registrar, Jammu (North), is transferred and posted as Deputy Director, Tourism Jammu. 

Abdul Jabbar, JKAS, Deputy Director, Tourism Jammu, is transferred and posted as Deputy District Election Officer, Ramban. 

Mohd. Farooq Malik, under orders of transfer as Deputy District Election Officer, Ramban, is posted as Development Officer, Handicrafts (Textiles), Jammu, against an available vacancy. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested a militant associate and recovered from his possession ammunition and other incriminating material in Baramulla district. 

“Police alongwith security forces arrested militant  associate linked with proscribed militant outfit LeT and recovered incriminating materials, ammunition from his possession in Baramulla,” reads a statement issued to GNS.

“On a specific input of terrorist movement in Pattan area, a joint Naka was established at Chinar Crossing Pattan by Baramulla Police, 2nd Bn SSB &  Army 29  RR.”

“During naka checking suspicious movement of one person coming towards naka point by foot was observed. While seeing police party and security forces, the suspect person tried to flee from the spot but alert naka party apprehended him tactfully,” reads the statement.

During preliminary questioning, the statement said the arrestee was identified as Mehraj ud din Bhat son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat resident of Mundyari Pattan.

“During his search one live hand grenade was recovered from his possession.”

“In this regard, case under sections UA (P) & Arms Act has been registered in PS Pattan and investigation has been taken up,” reads the statement further. (GNS)

SRINAGAR : An unidentified male body was found under mysterious circumstances in Rajouri on Saturday, an official said. 

The official told GNS that a body of a male person, believed to in his thirties, was spotted by some passersby at Deri Ralyote, some 150-feet away from Rajouri-Poonch highway. 

“Soon after a police team reached the site and lifted the body for identification and other medico-legal formalities”, the official said.
 
Confirming the recovery of the body, SHO Manjakote Ibrar Ahmad told GNS that they have sought help from the public to identify the body. “Once the identity is ascertained, the body will be handed over the family for last rites”, the officer said. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Police on Tuesday ruled out of the involvement of DySP Adil Mushtaq in Kokernag encounter in which three officers and a soldier were killed, rejecting claims of “insider betrayal” made by a new agency.

The Kashmir Police Zone while quoting ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar wrote on social media blogging platform, "It has come to notice that a video news item has been uploaded purportedly issued by a news agency by the name of Bharat TAK suggesting that DSP Adil Mushtaq is involved in the Kokernag terror incident as an insider betrayal. There is no truth to this video news.”

DSP Adil Mushtaq is being investigated for an entirely different case in Srinagar district and not in Anantnag. “This type of irresponsible journalism is also an act of criminal misconduct and is liable for legal action”, it reads. (GNS)
