SRINAGAR :Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday said that his idea to return to regional politics and forming own political party in Jammu and Kashmir is aimed at fullfilling the unfinished agenda of development and those projects which were left midway after he left the office of Chief Minister.

"Had I been power hungry, I would have never quit the Mational politics where I could have enjoyed more power," said Azad addressing party workers at Bhaderwah town and Sindhra bhalla block in Doda district.

"In National politics, one have opportunity to enjoy power and have less stress of work but in regional politics there are lot of many issues to address and less chances to enjoy the power due to direct dealings on ground,” he said.

The DPAP Chairman said that despite knowing it, he choose to return the regional politics, adding, "I came back to my people because I want to serve them and do whatever is required for the peace and progress of Jammu and Kashmir."
Azad said that during his tenure, he sanctioned and executed lots of projects but lot more is required to be done.

“Give me and my party a chance to deliver,” he said, adding that the DPAP is meant for the welfare of people and workers must focus on public meetings in their respective areas.

SRINAGAR: Democratic Progressive Azad Party chairman, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday said that he will bring back the Roshni Act Scheme that had “benefited thousands of poor people across Jammu and Kashmir” if his party is voted to power in the elections.

Addressing various deputations including a deputation of ST community Azad said, “once his party comes to power, no one will have any grievances since I am fully aware and informed about Jammu and Kashmir.”

Azad also said that his party will reach out to every corner of the UT to engage with people so that issues on ground people are facing shall be addressed.

He held the meeting of office bearers from Jammu and instructed them to intensify the party activities and ensure more and more people are joining to bring the change in Jammu and Kashmir.

Various delegations including ST community members also met Azad and informed him about the challenges and issues they are confronting.

Azad assured them that all their issues will be taken up at an appropriate level for the resolution. (UNI)

SRINAGAR: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday said there is no urgency in implementing the 'One Nation, One Election' concept in the country.

Azad is a member of the high-level committee formed to examine the government's 'One Nation One Election' concept to hold simultaneous national and state elections across the country.

The committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind held its first official meeting last month.

The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said that only a preliminary meeting of the committee was held and it was more an introductory meeting.

“I do not think there is any urgency in implementing it, as some people are suggesting. Consultations are to be held with national parties, recognised parties, regional and other parties have to be invited for deliberations ,” Azad told reporters here.
