                                    <description><![CDATA[<p>SRINAGAR: At least four persons sustained injuries in a road accident in Garkote area in Uri in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. </p>
<p>An official told GNS that four persons were injured after a Toyota car, bearing registration number JK054 6384, skidded off a road and rolled down at least 200 mtr. down into a gorge in Upper Garkote. </p>
<p>Following the incident, a rescue operation was launched at the site and four persons evacuated from the site to a nearby hospital. </p>
<p>Among the four, two injured were referred to GMC Baramulla and two others to SKIMS Soura for preferential treatment. </p>

                <title>Two Drug Peddlers Arrested In Baramulla</title>
                                    <description><![CDATA[SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 120 grams of contraband Charas-like substance during naka checking at challan Boniyar of North Kashmir's Baramulla district.

SSP Baramulla said that Police under the supervision of Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by DySP Prob Kubra Nazir-JKPS, and SHO PS Boniyar arrested two Drug Peddlers.

The two drug peddlers were identified as Wazir Ahmad Joo resident of Trikanjan &amp; Syed Shahid Hussain resident of Gingal. The duo was coming from Chellan towards Boniyar. On reaching Chellan and on seeing the naka party, the duo tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by the alert naka party.

During their personal search, 120 grams of Charas-like substance &amp; Cash 10K were recovered from them and were taken into custody immediately.

A case under NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Boniyar and investigations were set in motion.
Meanwhile, the general public of the area hailed the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society which is a real sign of Police Public relations. (CNS)

M. A Qadri assumes charge as CEO Kulgam

Kulgam,23-Mar,CNS; Mushtaq Ahmad Qadri assumed the charge of Chief Education officer, Kulgam (FN) pursuant to Govt. order No.80 JK Edu of 2023,Dated:18/03/2023.

The officer has served in many capacities in the Department and has earned respect and reputation as a dynamic&amp; efficient Education Administrator in the valley.

The officer being the resident of District Kulgam is expected to make the Education Sector bloom throughout the District.

Speaking on the occasion, the officers said, "It is our honour to work under the subordination of such a noble, dynamic and honest officer and promised their utmost support to the new CEO.

Later on, CEO Kulgam also held a meeting with the Staff of the CEO office and took stock of several important issues.

                <title>War Against Drug Continues In District Baramulla</title>
                                    <description><![CDATA[During the intervening night of 15th &amp; 16th March 2023, based on a specific information regarding presence of narcotics in the house of Nokhaze Khan Awan son of Kalu Khan Awan resident of Paranpeelan Uri, police party led by Inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO PS Uri under the overall supervision of Sh. Showkat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri raided the house. 
During search of the house, 1260 grams of contraband Charas like substance was recovered which was seized in presence of Magistrate and the above mentioned Drug Peddler was taken into custody immediately.
To this effect, case FIR No. 31/2023 under sections of NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Uri and investigation set in motion
