SRINAGAR: Security forces today detected an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Handwara area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.

An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a road opening party (ROP) found one IED in the Ganapora Kralgund area of Handwara, which was later detected along with a joint team of police. The official said the IED was destroyed by the bomb disposal squad without causing any damage.

Meanwhile, traffic movement in the area has also been restored. (KS)

SRINAGAR: An suspected object was found in Baramulla Kupwara highway in Kralgund area of Handwara on Thursday. Official sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that the suspected object was detected by the police and army.

They said bomb disposal squad teams of the Army and police reached at the spot and destroyed it safely. An official also confirmed that the object was defused after being recovered by a joint party. He added that traffic that was halted is being restored. Further investigation has been taken up. (KS)

SRINAGAR: A rusted motor shell was found in RS Pora area of Jammu on Tuesday following which it was defused.

Official sources told news agency—Kashmir Scroll that locals informed about the rusted shell in Suchetgarh area of Jammu.

They said that accordingly police rushed to the spot along bomb disposal squad and defused the shell. Further investigation in this regard has been taken up. (KS)

SRINAGAR: Security forces on Friday afternoon recovered an old rusted shell from a well in a Tekipora village in Sogam in Kupwara district, officials said.

They told GNS that a shell was found in a well of Abdul Jabbar Naikoo at Baghatpora village in Tekipora Sogam by labourers while cleaning the water source. 

"A joint team of 28 RR and SOG reached the site and recovered the shell, followed which it (explosive) was destroyed without causing any damage", they further said. (GNS)
