Army Soldier Dies In Accidental Fire In J&K

SRINAGAR: A 24-year-old Army soldier was killed in an “accidental discharge of his weapon” along Line of Control Poonch district on Wednesday, officials said.

The injured soldier, a rifleman, was taken to hospital where he was declared dead, the officials told GNS.

He has been identified as Deepak Verma (24). The incident, they said, took place near Noorkote along LoC. Further proceedings have been started into the incident, they added. (GNS)

Soldier Shoots Self Dead With Service Rifle

SRINAGAR : A soldier allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle at a camp in Samba district of Jammu official sources said on Friday.

They told Kashmir Scroll said that Army Jawan posted in Samba 168 Brigade shot himself dead with his service rifle. They said that his body has been shifted to DH Samba for autopsy, while police have taken cognisance of the matter. (KS)

Man Killed By Lightning Strike In Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A 45-year-old man was killed after lightning struck him in Gudder area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.

An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a man died after lightning strikes him in Gudder area. He has been identified as Hameed Ullah son of Gh Hassan Khan resident of Gudder Kulgam.

A police official in the meantime confirming it told Kashmir Scroll that cognizance has been taken in this regard. (KS)

SRINAGAR: An army man died of suspected heart attack in Sawjian area in Poonch district, officials said. As per official reports, Naik Sunil Kumar faced a major heart attack while on duty and died on spot. “A police party has reached the spot to collect necessary details.” Meanwhile a police official has also confirmed about the death of the army man.
