Srinagar, Mar 12 : In a shocking incident, a 30- year-old woman has been allegedly murdered and then chopped into pieces by a man in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, police said on Sunday.

In a handout Budgam police said that on March 8, one Tanveer Ahmad Khan of Soibug Budgam submitted an application to the Police Post Soibug, stating that his sister (name withheld), age 30 years left for the coaching classes on March 7 but didn’t return home.

Accordingly police said that a missing report was registered and the investigation was started.

 "Police rounded up several suspects including Shabir Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Aziz Wani of Mohandpora Budgam. After sustained interrogation, Shabir confessed to having murdered the missing girl," it said.

To hide his crime, the police said, the culprit had cut the body into pieces and buried them at different locations. "On his disclosure, the parts have been recovere, it said.
 Medico-legal formalities are underway, the police said. "The investigation is on," it added.

Jammu, July 23 : Police on Friday said to have shot down a drone carrying 5kg IED in Akhnoor area of Jammu district. 

The drone was shot down near Kanachak in Domana sub division, they said. 

A police officer revealed that the explosive device recovered was to be assembled and to be used by militants.

 “Further Investigations are underway,” the officer said.

MENDHAR JULY 18 : Locals from Banola area  in Mendhar sub division of poonch district have alleged poor quality  for construction of high school building 

locals of the area said  the Govt High School Banola  accused the executing agency of poor quality work 

The  Locals accused the contractor that the material being used in the building is substandard, he said, it is clearly visible in the pictures that sand is being poured into it.  On behalf of the Locals, a video of the substandard material being used in the building has been made viral on social media.

Elderly man feared dead after massive boundary wall of GMC Rajouri collapses

Rajouri, July 11 : An elderly person is feared dead after a massive under construction boundary wall of Government Medical College collapsed in Rajouri district on Sunday.

Official sources told this Correspondent that massive wall caved in and one person identified as Karam Chand (75) son of Ghurmukh Singh of Mera, Rajouri came under it. Soon, they said, a rescue operation was launched. They said while efforts are underway to clear the debris, it was unlikely that septuagenarian would survive. 

SSP Rajouri Sheema Nabi Qasba told GNS that soon after receiving the information, rescue operation was launched. 

“Debris clearing is in process,” the police officer added.
